Gihan Suwaris through to the second round in the main draw after a hard fought battle with Jafari Nadoushan from Iran which went on for 5 games.

Second round match against Nasir Iqbal ranked no 1 from Pakistan will be at 05.30pm today.

Ravindu Laksiri lost after a stunning battle which went to a 5 sets match with the scores of 11/9, 11/8, 10/12, 4/11 & 4/11.

Ravindu was leading the match with 2 games in hand until Abdeen Idrakie from Malaysia took control over the match from the third game with his experience.  Adbeen Idrakie did not have an easy match with the skills of Ravindu Laksiri.

Shamil Wakeel, the youngest of the team had a hard fought battle with Wang Lie from China and was able to grab the third game. Wang Lie won the match in 4 games.

Adnan Abdulhusein, the new member of the team with the least experience was defeated by Sanjay Chal from Malaysia in 3 games. The match was a great experience for the new comer against well experienced Sanjay.

Mihiliya Methsarani through to the second round in the main draw with an easy win against Eum Hwa from Korea with the scores of 11/6, 12/10, 11/8.

Fathoum Issadeen, Wasundara Suwaris & Gayara Jayasuriya could not get through to the second round in the main draw.  They will be back in the court for plate-matches tomorrow.

Yang Yeuon (Korea) beat Fathoum Issadeen  : 11/7, 11/8, 11/6

Gu Jin (China) beat Waundara Suwaris : 11/3, 11/3, 11/5

Vanessa Chu (Malaysia) beat Gayara Jayasuriya L 11/5, 11/6, 11/3
